Synopsis
Documentary film Milena is a story about artist Milena Pavlović Barilli (Požarevac, Serbia 1909 - New York, NY 1945), famous and authentic female painter, illustrator, designer and poet.
It's an inspirational story about the extraordinary life and artistic work of a mystic lady, strong but romantic, brave individualist and also about her XXI century threads - the followers artists of Milena's unique sensibility and style. It is a film story about the duality in Milena, about being the only independent Serbian female painter who worked and exhibited with great success in Rome, Paris, London, New York, and also about contemporary circumstances in art and history of her and of our time.

Director Biography
Čarna Radoičić, born in 1979, is film director from Belgrade, Serbia. She is the winner of Grand Prix of 50th Festival of short and documentary film in Belgrade, as well as many other prizes for the documentary Three Personal Street Stories. She wrote, directed, shooted and produced various documentaries and directed many TV serials and events. She is an art director and selector of the first Women film festival in the Balkans, "Female eye of the world". She works as a docent at Academy of Arts in Belgrade. She has directed several documentaries including Milena (2011), Miki Manojlović: Film Roles (2005), Three Personal/Street Stories (2003).
